The Top Reasons to use MS Planner

If you’re like most business owners, you’re always looking for ways to be more productive and organized. Well, Microsoft Planner could be the answer you’ve been looking for. Here are the top reasons to start using Planner today:

It’s part of Microsoft 365 Business

While it’s a bit obvious, it’s still a really good reason.

First off – you don’t have to pay extra for it, it’s part of the license you already have.

Next – you know that being part of M365 means that it’s been designed to work with other Microsoft programs, the ‘biggie’ being MS Teams (more on that in a bit).

Cloud based and accessible anywhere

Where (and how) we work has changed a lot over the last few years.

Working in a single place (i.e. office) isn’t how we want to work.

Instead we want to be able to keep up to date wherever we are; from a dedicated working space (home, office, shared working space), to on the go (often with portable devices like our phones or tablets).

MS Planner stores everything in the cloud (along with the rest of M365). There’s a choice of ways to access it, including web browser, smartphone, tablet, desktop/laptop application.

No excuses!

Easy to use

There’s no getting away from it, when you’ve got a lot of work to do – which is the main reason for a planner. You need something that you can pick up. That doesn’t take a lot of time to figure out how to use it.

Fortunately, Planner fits into that box easily.

With a simple interface (look), you start creating plans in seconds. Meaning that you can get up and running immediately.

OK – so you may want to spend some time working out how you want to use it, but after that it’s simple!

Teamwork

MS Planner has been designed to work with groups of people.

Create different planner ‘boards’ keep them private if it’s for you or specific colleagues. Alternatively make them public to share with a wider audience.

Add people into the team members, and assign different tasks to specific people. Once someone has completed their task (or part of it), it can be assigned to another team member for the next part.

Really working together.

Integrated with MS Teams

Sigh, MS Skype for Business is dead 😥 (or very very close it to), long live MS Teams.

With so many businesses now having moved over to MS Teams as their main communication tool, having all of your information in one place just makes sense.

Rather than having to keep opening another program, and switching between them, you can create and collaborate in the same program.
