- Feature Stagnation: Your Windows experience will remain frozen in time, with no new features or improvements offered or installed.

Option 1: Upgrade to Windows 11
Microsoft’s preferred solution is upgrading to Windows 11, which offers enhanced security features, a modernised interface, and ongoing support. I’ve found the transition relatively smooth for compatible hardware, though it does require meeting specific system requirements.
Option 2: Extended Security Updates (ESU)
For those who cannot immediately upgrade, Microsoft offers an Extended Security Updates programme:
- Commercial customers can receive security updates for an additional year post-end-of-support
- Individual consumers can purchase a year of basic protection for £23 (approximately $30)
