Presentations – the What, Why, When and How
What?
A presentation conveys information from a speaker to an audience.
Presentations are typically demonstrations, introduction, lecture, or speech meant to share information to groups of people.

For those times that you want to share information with an audience, where a document or a spreadsheet is too much, consider using a presentation to help you get the point across.
Why?
You are sharing information with a group of people – normally sitting a distance from the speaker.
The data needs to be visible to the back of the room.
You present ‘slides’ which you move between to share your idea, data or story.
Each slide can hold a range of information, from text to images to charts and tables.
When?
The classic answer is giving information to a group of people.
Create a presentation when you want something for people to look, to make a point clearer or reinforce your words.
How?
There are a number of services that can be used to present your information, including the two most popular Google and Microsoft options:
Microsoft PowerPoint
Google Slides
Apple Keynote
Microsoft Sway
Prezi
